Scholarships, (pre AI) Generative Art and Standard.site
Latest Event News
Our inclusion scholarship is now open to anyone from an under-represented group in tech. Apply now to receive a free ticket to attend, with limited funds available to cover travel.
Gwen attended last year without knowing anyone so we paired her with a buddy so she had a friendly face from the start. She says "the sense of community and friendliness was incredible"
We are looking for companies to support the scheme so please hit reply if this is something you can help with.

A previous scholarship recipient is Charlotte Dann who spoke in 2019. She says:
if it wasn't for FFConf's generosity and commitment to creating a diverse community, I wouldn't be the developer I am today
Check out Charlotte's fascinating talk about the rise of generative art (pre-AI, remember those heady days?!) and gives us an insight into laser cutters, pen plotters, and 3D printing.
This is why I love generative coding so much because you get to be super creative and expressive making generative art

Community News
This last week, it's been a slew of Standard.site information - a way to enhance the embedded data shown on social networks. Something we'll add to FFConf, but for now, here's how to start:
- Mat "Wilto" Marquis has an in depth post with Implementing Standard.site
- If you're more of "I need charts" dev, then Steve Simkins post is for you
- Prefer lots of code? Then ege's weblog has a good walk-through
- There's also tooling emerging: Sequoia CLI and a validator
- Andy Bell also includes Wordpress and Astro plugins in his post.
Finally, next week is Pixel Pioneers, they still have handful of tickets, plus still space for students. Not a bad idea if you want to get some mid-year web goodies.
